![]() ![]() With this I can get a floor plan and start drawing walls, copy-paste my furniture, add some basic details and in 20 minutes I know whether the place works or not. For house hunting, you need to know if a layout actually works before you move. It also made us understand what would fit in each room in a new or existing space. For the renovation, it helped to communicate the ideas to the designer intuitively, and then they went to town with actual measurements and CAD. ![]() I've done a complete condo renovation and a round of (successful) house hunting on room plans in SH3D. You wouldn't use this for professional interior design, but it's very useful for the price. In this situation I want something fast which still has a lot of options for how to move and place things. When looking for a new place we want to quickly understand how the layout will work with our stuff and how it feels to get inside the space. My go-to for floor planning new apartments Print the home plan and the 3D view or export them in files at PDF, PNG, JPEG, SVG, OBJ standard formats, to reuse designed homes in other software.Annotate the plan with room areas, dimension lines, texts, arrows and a compass rose.Create a video from a virtual path in the 3D view.Create a photorealistic image of your arrangement depending on the time of the day and the light sources placed in the plan.View the changes in the plan simultaneously in a 3D view, in which you can navigate either from an aerial view point, or from a virtual visitor view point.Customize the size, the orientation, the elevation, the colors and the textures of each piece of furniture.Drag and drop doors, windows and furniture onto the plan from a catalog of 1610 objects organized by categories, in which you can import 3D models created by yourself or downloaded from the web. ![]() Change the color or the texture of the walls, the floors and the ceilings, importing images of your own patterns if needed.Draw walls and rooms of your home from scratch or upon the image of an existing plan, on one or more levels.Sweet Home 3D is aimed at people who want to design their interior quickly, whether they are moving or they just want to redesign their existing home or office. If you’re only interested in landscape design, there may be a better program for you in our best landscaping design software buying guide, while if you’re more focused on inside the home, you may want to look at our best interior design software buying guide.Sweet Home 3D is an easy to learn interior design application that helps you draw the plan of your house in 2D, arrange furniture on it and visit the results in 3D. It might not have the features of its higher-end rivals, but then it doesn't have their price tag either. ![]() But as a tool for designing relatively simple structures, for planning interior changes or just for working out what furniture is going to work best where, it's a little bargain. Let's be honest: you're not going to use Sweet Home 3D to design a mansion or a skyscraper, or even to do a very detailed set of plans for a home build. Exporting these can be a little slow, painfully so if you're exporting in large pixel sizes at 'Best' picture quality – think minutes instead of moments – but they do give a very good idea of how your room(s) will look in reality. You can also create a video walkthrough in 3D view at a resolution ranging from a microscopic 176 x 132 to a massive 7680 x 4320 pixels, or create high-res photos based on points of view such as the building entrance or specific room. The 2D export is in SVG format, appropriate for most image programs, and the 3D object is exported as an OBJ file for 3D graphics apps. If you want to share your plan with others, you can save it as a Sweet Home 3D document or export your 2D or 3D objects.
